This tour is the perfect opportunity to learn first-hand about one of the most representative activities of the Raizal people, essential for their food sovereignty. Throughout the experience you will explore the traditional techniques and methods used by the fishermen of the archipelago, promoting respect and appreciation of their culture.
Guide / transportation / fishing tackle and lunch
The method is done by trolling (while the boat is in motion) and is done 3 miles off the island of Providencia and its surroundings. You will have the possibility to fish pelagic fish such as (barracudas, jacks, mullets and mackerel), you will have the opportunity to use the hand line and with the help of the fisherman and captain on board have a successful fishing, you will learn how to clean a fish and how the trolling process should be done. After fishing you will arrive at the chosen beach where you will see how the fish is cooked in the traditional way over firewood, marinating the fresh fish of the day with island spices and condiments used in the Raizal cuisine.
